Cult Lab Launches The Incubator For Creativity and Innovation
Cult has just finished the buildout of the Cult Lab, a new space where creative people can collaborate on projects, innovate ideas and inspire each other to create great content. Walk through the showroom and out the back door and you are transported into a space that screams music, fashion, art and cool. The Cult Lab is emblazoned with quotes and album covers from some of the most consequential music artists of the last few decades. As you meander deeper into the space you realize you are now part of a scene that screams creativity. The main stage is set with Drums, Guitars, Turntables and a Mic just in case any spontaneous performances are spawned from the who’s who that pops in on a regular basis. The back wall is decked with a neon light that reads, “You Can’t Do Epic Shit, With Basic People,” and clearly this place is going to be Epic. The space has its own photo set, meeting lounge and what creative space is complete without the Bar?
One observation that came out of Covid is that it created huge voids in the collective creative process. Artists and the community at large had no place to go and were forced to create content on-line in a vacuum and hope it would find its audience. Cult during that time launched a series of events with artists called “Sessions,” which was part vlog, part interview and part performance. Designed initially to just stay in touch with our community and discuss culture, we quickly realized we had tapped into something BIG. Artists, designers, musicians, subject matter experts and cultural icons were jumping in to take part. It was at that moment we decided to double down and expand our capacity to be a catalyst for creation. “We needed to create a space that extended the Cult brand beyond fashion. We needed to create a collaborative space where artists could perform, develop ideas and be inspired to create content,” says Ron Poisson, Owner and Creative Director. In order for this to work it had to be inclusive and not just about Cult but about all of the artisans that contribute to defining our voice in the culture on a daily basis. Cult Lab was born. The space is now open and running
